Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, witnessed 49.4 mm rainfall while the maximum temperature here was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, MeT department report said here.
Among other places in Haryana, Ambala, Karnal and Narnaul registered maximum temperatures at 34.4 degrees Celsius, 32.6 degrees Celsius and 36.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
Hisar registered its maximum at 35 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal. Ambala, Hisar and Karnal received rainfall of 11.1 mm, 0.2 mm and 8.8 mm respectively.
MeT department in its forecast said light to moderate rain is likely to occur at few places in Punjab and Haryana in next 24 hours.
