Gulmarg, the famous ski-resort in north Kashmir and the star attraction for tourists especially skiers from abroad, recorded 12 inches of fresh snow during the night, a MeT Department spokesman said.
He said the resort recorded the minimum temperature of minus 1.2 degrees Celsius, compared to minus 2 degrees Celsius yesterday.
While Gulmarg received snowfall, other parts of the Valley were lased with rains which continued for the second day today.
The mercury in Pahalgam hill resort in south, which serves as the base camp for the annual Amarnath yatra, settled at a low of 1.2 degrees Celsius against 0.4 degree Celsius yesterday, the spokesman said.

The resort recorded 20.4 mm of rainfall till 8:30 AM, he said.
Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway recorded a low of 3.6 degrees Celsius, compared to 3.2 degrees Celsius the previous night, he said, adding 5 mm rains were recorded in the city.
The mercury in Kupwara, in north Kashmir, settled at a low of minus 1.8 degrees Celsius as against 0.4 degree Celsius the previous night, the spokesman said.
