Rains dip in north

Several parts of north India
received light to moderate rains as the the monsoon significantly weakened over the region today.
Temperatures rose slightly in Delhi today while humidity levels were lower as compared to yesterday.
According to the MeT office, the maximum temperature rose to 36.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal and 1.8 degrees higher than yesterday, while the minimum was recorded at 25.8 degrees, a notch below normal.
Relative humidity in air oscillated between 40 and 71 per cent, the official said.
The weather improved across Uttarakhand with a let-up in rain as most places received little or no showers.
No loss of life and property was reported from anywhere and major rivers were flowing below the the danger level.

However, the Char Dham Yatra continued to be affected with the highways leading to the major shrines of Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri blocked at a number of places.
After a week-long heavy rains, showers eluded Himachal Pradesh with some pockets receiving only traces of rain.

Light to moderate rains occurred at isolated places in Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Bikaner divisions, Met report said.
Lohariy, Jagppura, Yevya, Sabla, Mount Abu, Nagaur and Sagwara recorded one cm of rainfall each, while Kota city received 16.2 mm rains during the day.
The southwest monsoon weakened over the north-west of the state in Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Jodhpur districts.
Mercury hovered around normal levels in many places in Punjab and Haryana with no rains being recorded in the region.
In Haryana, Hisar was hottest at 37.5 degrees Celsius, while Ambala recorded 34.8 degrees Celsius and Narnaul's high settled at 34.5 degrees Celsius, the MeT office said.
In Punjab, Patiala had a high of 35.4 degrees celsius, while Ludhiana recorded 33.5 degrees Celsius and in Amritsar, the maximum settled at 33.1 degrees Celsius.
The joint capital Chandigarh registered a maximum temperature of 34.6 degrees celsius, the Met office said.
