Rains elude capital

The maximum temperature was recorded at 38.4 degree Celsius, five degree above normal, while the minimum was recorded at 29.5 degree Celsius, three degree above normal, the MeT office said.

The city has been witnessing temperatures above normal for the past couple of days. Yesterday, light rains had lashed the capital in the evening.

Today, the humidity was recorded between 76 per cent and 40 per cent.

The MeT office has forecast maximum and minimum temperatures to be 39 and 29 degree Celsius respectively.

Monsoon hit the capital July 6, after missing the normal onset date of June 29. Last year, monsoon reached the city on June 26.
