The continuous downpour throughout the day led to water logging in several areas and triggered traffic snarls in various intersections and busy roundabouts in the city.
The Safdarjung observatory, the reading of which is considered the official figure for the city, recorded 12.2 mm rainfall between 8.30 AM and 5.30 PM.
The observatories at Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayangar received 25.2mm, 11.6mm, 16mm and 19.8mm rainfall during the same period.
The weather stations at Safdarjung, Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayangar recorded 4.8mm, 3mm, 1.5mm, 4.6mm and 7mm rainfall till 8.30 AM.

The Met office has predicted rains for tomorrow as well.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. Moderate rain is likely to occur in several parts of the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 30 and 24 degrees," the official said.
Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 35.8 and 28.6 degrees Celsius, both a notch above normal.
