In Haryana, Hisar as well as Ambala recorded the maximum temperature of 34.3 degrees Celsius. Hisar recorded a rainfall of 5 mm.
The maximum temperature in Narnaul was recorded at 33.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal, it said.
In Punjab, Amritsar, which was lashed by 6 mm of rain, recorded the maximum temperature of 34.7 degrees Celsius, a degree above normal.
The weather department has forecast more rains in the two states during the next few days.
