Chandigarh, which received light showers in the morning, recorded the maximum temperature of 32.4 degrees Celsius, a notch below the normal for this time of the season, the MeT department said here.
In Amritsar, which too was lashed by rains, recorded a high of 33.6 degrees Celsius, down two notches.
Ludhiana, which received heavy rains, recorded a high of 32.9 degrees Celsius, while in Patiala the maximum settled at 32.4 degrees Celsius.
Ambala in Haryana recorded a high of 31.9 degrees Celsius, down two notches.
Hisar recorded a high of 31 degrees Celsius, down five notches against normal.
The weather department has forecast more rains in the two states over the next few days.
