According to the MeT department, the Safdarjung weather station, the figure of which is considered the official figure for the city, recorded 0.4 mm rainfall while areas under Palam, Ayanagar and Ridge observatories recieved 0.8 mm, 8.9 mm and 0.4 mm rainfall respectively till 5.30 PM.
The weather station at Lodhi Road recorded traces of rainfall in the same period.
The showers were accompanied by strong winds measuring up to 60 km per hour at the Safdarjung observatory and 92 km per hour at Palam, said a MeT department official.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures in the national capital were recorded at 38.6 and 27.4 degrees, respectively," said the official.

The humidity in air oscillated between 76 and 39 per cent.
The MeT Office has forecast light rains towards night.
The weatherman has predicted overcast conditions along with possibility of light rain and thunderstorm in some areas tomorrow.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rain and thunderstorm is likely to occur in some areas tomorrow," the official said, adding the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 40 and 25 degrees tomorrow.
