Rains lash parts of country; 3 die in house-collapse incidents

Many parts of the country received rains today including Himachal Pradesh, where three persons were killed in incidents of house collapse.
The national capital recorded maximum temperature at 35 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average while the minimum was 27 degrees Celsius.
Humidity levels oscillated between 78 and 60 per cent.
As heavy rains lashed parts of Himachal Pradesh, around 140 roads, including 68 in Mandi circle alone were closed due to landslides.
In Shimla district's Theog, two persons were killed and six injured when an HRTC building collapsed due to heavy rains while in Kangra district, a woman died when her kachha house collapsed, officials said.
Sarkaghat received 187 mm of rains in the past 24 hours and was the wettest in the region followed by Dharamshala 69 mm, Solan 55 mm and Shimla 45 mm of rainfall.

There was marginal increase in maximum temperatures and Una was the hottest recording a high of 33.2 degrees Celsius followed by Kangra 31.9 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 31.2 degrees Celsius and Sundernagar 30.5 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperatures at most places in Haryana today hovered below normal limits with Chandigarh, which received heavy showers last night, recording a high of 33.5 degrees Celsius.
However, maximum temperatures at most places in Punjab hovered a notch or two above normal limits, the MeT department said.
In Haryana, Ambala registered a maximum of 31.5 degrees Celsius, down two notches against normal while Karnal recorded a high of 30.6 degrees Celsius.
Amritsar in Punjab recorded a high of 35.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal while the mercury in Ludhiana and Patiala settled at 34.1 degrees Celsius and 32.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
Light rains occurred at isolated places in Rajasthan till this morning since yesterday. However, there was no rain during the day today.
In West Bengal, the state capital recorded 50 mm rains till 8.30 AM today since yesterday and witnessed light rainfall in the afternoon.
While Birbhum district received 56 mm of rains, Jalpaiguri in northern parts of the state gauged 12 mm of precipitation.
Rain and thunderstorm occurred at many places in Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places over north interior parts of the state.
In Bihar, Patna received 106.6 mm of rains while Tribeni and Balmiki in West Champaran district recorded 30 cm of rainfall since yesterday.
Purnea recorded the highest maximum temperature of 32.8 degrees Celsius, followed by 32.4 degrees Celsius in Bhagalpur, 31.2 degrees Celsius in Gaya and 30.2 degrees Celsius in Patna.
Parts of coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu also witnessed rainfall.
