Rains lash parts of eastern UP

Heavy rain and thundershowers lashed parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh in the past 24 hours even as Etawah in western part today sizzled at 44.8 degrees Celsius.
Some other parts of the state also received light to moderate rain and thundershowers.
According to Met office Khalilabad received 6 cms of rainfall followed by Ayodhya (2 cms) and Bansgaon (1 cm).
Day temperatures fell appreciably in Meerut division, rose in Allahabad division and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.
It was above normal in Jhansi division, below normal in Gorakhpur division and normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
