According to MeT office, Chandigarh, which received light rains, recorded a high of 33.2 degrees C.
Hisar, in Haryana, was lashed by heavy rains and the maximum temperature there settled at 30.5 degrees C, five notches below normal.
Ambala and Bhiwani, too, had rains and both towns recorded respective below normal maximums of 31.5 degrees C and 30.4 degrees C.
In Punjab, Patiala recorded a high of 33.2 degrees C while Ludhiana's maximum settled at 34.1 degrees C.
Amritsar recorded a high of 35.5 degrees C, it said.
