Rains lash parts of Himachal Pradesh as monsoon remains active

Heavy rains lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh today as monsoons remained active in the region causing significant fall in minimum temperatures here.
Dharamshala was wettest in the region with 136 mm rains while, Bangana and Dalhousie received at 65 mm, followed by Gaggal 54 mm, Ghumarwin 50 mm, Palampur 39 mm, Nagrota Surian 38 mm, Bilaspur and Sujanpurtira 31 mm, Jubberhatti 27mm, Nahan and Dehra Gopipur 22 mm, Sarkaghat 18 mm, Manali 17mm, Mandi 16 mm, Hamirpur 14 mm, Una and Kasauli 13 mm and Shimla, Sundernagar and Paonta Sahib 12 mm of rainfall.
The minimum temperatures dropped to 12.0 degrees, 12.9 degrees and 14.4 degrees at Manali, Keylong and Kalpa while Shimla recorded a low of 14.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Dharamsala 15.8 degrees, Palampur 17.0 degrees, Solan 20.2 degrees, Bhuntar and Sundernagar 20.5 degrees, Nahan 21.2 degrees and Una 22.0 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperatures also dropped marginally and Una in Shivalik foothills recorded a high of 33.4 degrees, followed by Sundernagar 33.0 degrees, Bhuntar 31.0 degrees, Dharamshala 30.2 degrees, Solan 29.0 degrees, Nahan 28.2 degrees, Shimla 27.0 and Kalpa 20.8 degrees.
The MeT Department has forecast rains and thunderstorm at many places in mid, higher and lower hills over the next six days and warned of heavy rains at some places in mid hills tomorrow.
