Rains lash parts of Punjab

In Punjab, heavy rains (33.6 mm) lashed Amritsar, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.4 deg C. Ludhiana, which received light rains, recorded a high of 33.1 deg C.

The maximum temperature in Chandigarh settled at 33 deg C, the MeT said, adding that the city received traces of rain.

While Hisar in Haryana recorded 33.6 deg C, the day temperature in Narnaul settled at 31.6 deg C. Among other towns, Ambala and Bhiwani recorded 34.4 deg C and 33 deg C, respectively.

The MeT has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers at a few places in the two states during the next two days.
