Chandigarh, which received 27.6 mm rainfall, saw the day temperature settle at 33.5 deg C, two notches below normal.
In Punjab, Patiala recorded 73.6 mm rainfall. The maximum temperature there was recorded at 35.3 deg C. Ludhiana and Amritsar also observed rain. Ambala in Haryana had 25 mm rainfall.
The day temperature at Bhiwani, Hisar, Karnal and Rohtak was recorded at 33 deg C, 35 deg C, 33 deg C and 32.6 deg C respectively.
The MeT office in its forecast said light to moderate rain may occur at few places of Punjab and Haryana in next 48 hours.
