Rains lash several places in Punjab, Haryana

Rains today lashed several parts of Punjab and Haryana with mercury dropping by several notches below normal in both states.
Union Territory Chandigarh recorded maximum temperature of 32.2 deg C, down by a degree below normal and had rainfall of 7.2 mm, Met department report said.
In Haryana, Bhiwani and Hisar recorded maximum temperature of 31.6 deg C and 29.9 deg C and they received rainfall of 8 mm and 11 mm respectively.
Narnaul settled at 29 deg C, down by five notches below normal and it received rainfall of 9 mm. Ambala recorded high at 31.2 deg C, down by two degrees below normal.
In Punjab, Ludhiana received rainfall of 135.5 mm in last 24 hours and its maximum settled at 30.4 deg C while Amritsar was lashed by 22.6 mm of rain and its maximum was 33 deg C. Patiala had a high of 31.4 deg C, down by a degree below normal.
Met department has predicted light to moderate rain at many places in Punjab and Haryana in next 24 hours.
