In Haryana, Karnal's maximum temperature settled at 33.5 degrees Celsius, one below normal. The town also experienced showers.
Ambala received light showers and the maximum temperature settled at 35.7 degrees Celsius.
Hisar, which received light rains, recorded a high of 34.5 degrees Celsius, down four notches below normal.
In Punjab, the maximum temperature in Amritsar was 34.5 degrees Celsius, down two degrees.
Ludhiana and Patiala received light rains. The maximum temperature in these two cities was recorded at 35.4 degrees Celsius and 36 degrees Celsius, respectively.
