The rainfall has given much needed respite to the farmers whose Rabi crop was about to dry due to absence of moisture, an agriculture department official said.
After over a month of SW monsoon's withdrawal from the state, a fresh trough of moisture from Bay of Bengal today lashed the state giving respite to people from sultry weather, a MeT official said.
Light to moderate rains occurred in Kota and Jaipur districts, a meteorological department official said.
In the afternoon, Jaipur received moderate rainfall, barring a few sub-urban areas like Sanganer and Airport, he said.
"Rains will continue and cover most parts of Rajasthan in next three days," he said.
The day and night temperatures also plummeted by one to five degree Celsius at most places in the state due to increase in moisture content in the air, he said.
