Mahipal Singh Yadav, posted in the department of Sanskrit of the university, had demanded Rs 50,000 from a scholar for clearing his bills, Additional SP (ACB), Narottam Lal Verma said.
The complainant scholar had given Rs 10,000 earlier to the assistant professor and was caught today accepting Rs 40,000 in cash, he said.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths also arrested peon Hari Mohan, a contractual employee working at the department, who was acting as the middleman, the officer said.
