Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today raided the Central Purchase Store and seized incriminating documents in connection with the multi-crore LED bulb purchase and supply scam, officials said.
The bureau has initiated a probe into the scam involving staff of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and the store at Malviya Nagar here, they said.
"We have got information that the Central Purchase Store staff had supplied LED bulbs to the PHED at inflated rates through a Jaipur-based contractor. The financial irregularity amounts into crores," ASP ACB Bajrang Singh Shekhawat told PTI.
"The ACB has seized papers revealing Rs 3 crore transaction in the preliminary investigation," Singh said, adding the matter is being probed.
He said 8 watt LED bulb, costing between Rs 70 to Rs 80, was supplied at Rs 1,000 and 120 watt at Rs 21,000.
The staff was involved in irregularities from last two years, Singh added.
