"This is a political conspiracy of Congress-ruled UPA government to falsely implicate Kataria in the case, so the party has decided to call for bandh on May 18," party's state general secretary Kalicharan Saraf said.
He said all the district units of the party have been given directions to make sure that the bandh is successful.
CBI has charge sheeted Kataria, who was the Rajasthan home minister in the previous Vasundhara Raje-led BJP government in the state, in the encounter case, along with three others.
The BJP has rejected all charges against Kataria with party president Rajnath Singh expressing full support for him.
