Rajasthan BJP MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari today lodged a police complaint against his own party's state media cell, accusing it of posting "objectionable" content about him on a social media group.
"Several fake messages and contents have been posted on a WhatsApp group by the state BJP's media cell against me to tarnish my image. I demand action against all those behind these objectionable messages," he told reporters here.
The outspoken-Rajasthan BJP leader has lodged the complaint at the Jalupura Police Station and has urged the Station House Officer (SHO) to take immediate action against the perpetrators.
No FIR has been registered in the matter as yet and the complaint has been kept for probe, police said.
Tiwari has been criticising Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and the BJP leadership after he was served show cause notices last month by the party's national discipline committee.
The notices were sent after he alleged that the BJP in Rajasthan had become "a place for mafias and sycophants while dedicated, loyal and qualified people had been sidelined".
