Rajasthan Congress today accused the Raje government of "suppressing serious irregularities" in mine allotments in the state and will submit a memorandum to Chief Vigilance Commissioner in New Delhi tomorrow demanding probe in the matter.
"The state government is trying to suppress serious irregularities in mine allotments. The committee constituted by the government to review the allotment comprises of people who had important role in the allotment, which raises question on its credibility," the state Congress chief Sachin Pilot said at a press conference here.
In the memorandum, the delegation would be demanding a detailed probe in the alleged irregularities in allotting 653 mines which caused a loss of Rs 45,000 crore to the exchequer, he said.
"We have been demanding Supreme Court monitored-CBI probe in the issue because the administration had political approval for these irregularities," Pilot said.
The delegation would be lead by AICC General Secretary Gurudas Kamat and Rajasthan Congress president Sachin Pilot.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, leader of Opposition in the Assembly Rameshwar Dudi and other leaders would also be present.
