Raj dy village head arrested for submitting forged marksheet

A deputy village head of Chabra panchayat samiti in Baran district of Rajasthan was arrested and sent to judicial custody on charges of submitting forged mark sheet for the local election, police said today.
Hemlata Lodha, who was recently elected as the 'Up-Pradhaan' of Chabra panchayat samiti was yesterday arrested for allegedly submitting forged class X mark sheet to the election officer for contesting from ward number 7 of the block and has been sent to judicial custody till April 24, they said.
Banwarilal Lodha, a resident of Hanahedi village and poll rival of Hemlata from the same ward had lodged a complaint with the police on February 24 in the same regard, Circle Inspector, Chabra police station, Rajulal Meena said.
During the probe the mark sheet produced by Hemlata proved to be forged and actually belonging to one Sorhab Jatev with the roll number 131715117 from Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, the CI said.
Following the investigation and verification, a case under 420 (Cheating), 468 (Forgery) and 471 of IPC was lodged against Hemlata and she was sent to judicial custody by the additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) court yesterday, he added.
According to sources, five more cases of submitting forged and fake marksheets have been lodged in Bapcha police station of Baran district after the court orders.
First Information Reports against Anita Nagar, Sarpanch of Kotrapar gram panchayat, Sardaribai, sarpanch of Hajahedi gram panchayat, Kamleshbai, Sarpanch of Ghatakhedi gram panchayat, Guddibai, Sarpanch of Mithiniya gram panchayat and Radhabai of Semli gram panchayat has been lodged and investigation into the matter is on, they said.
Rajasthan government has made it mandatory for candidates contesting zila parishad and panchayat samiti polls to be Class X pass and those contesting sarpanch elections to be Class VIII pass. In scheduled areas the eligibility has been fixed at Class V pass.
