Private companies will do complete sanitation work in initially Jaipur and Jodhpur and six others cities will also be covered soon.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet here today.
In Jaipur, a private company will do complete sanitation in 25 wards. It includes door-to-door waste collection, cleaning of roads and drains and waste management.
"The company will do partial sanitation (door-to-door waste collection and disposal) work in 21 other wards. The remaining work in those wards will be done by the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC)", UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal told reporters after the meeting.
Another company will do partial sanitation (door-to-door waste collection and disposal) in wards of Jodhpur and other sanitation related works will be carried out by the Municipal Corporation, he said.
The minister informed that monthly charges of sanitation will be included in electricity bills.
He also said that the government was planning to implement door-to-door waste collection and disposal plan for all district headquarters within one year.
