Congress Rajasthan unit chief Sachin Pilot today accused the state government of ignoring the interests of farmers and deliberately scaling down the schemes and programmes for farmers launched by former UPA government.
Addressing farmers in Sriganganagar, he claimed that dirty water was being supplied to farmers through Indira Gandhi canal and there were no efforts to repair it.
The repairing of the canal, he said, was an issue directly related to the farming community.
"Farmers are going through tough phase in the BJP rule. The schemes and programmes launched by the UPA government have been stopped by the government," former Union minister said.
He said the farmers were not being provided adequate power and water which was badly affecting the community.
He also targeted the Vasundhara Raje government over law and order situation, saying the crime rate has increased whereas developmental activities have also been stalled in the rule of the BJP.
