"In order to impart quality education to students from 6th to 12th classes in remote rural areas, the state government has in the current session set up about 66 special schools under the name Swami Vivekanand Model school," Additional District Project Coordinator (RMSA), Satish Joshi said.
Functioning under the name of the Swami Vivekanand Model Schools, with funds from Rastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), the institutions provide special emphasis on teaching of Science, Maths and English for the rural children.
Over six hundred students are currently studying in three model schools. Special classes for English speaking are also being organized for the students, Joshi said.
Each school building, which includes a play ground along with 23 classrooms, a hall and science and computer labs, has been constructed in the first phrase with the budget of Rs 2.80 corers for each school in the district, he said.
