Rajasthan government will form a committee to study facilities being given to Maintenance of Internal Security Act-1971 (MISA) and Defence of India Rules-1971 (DIR) detainees in other states, General Administration Minister Hem Singh Bhadana said today.
The committee will review the facilities and submit its report to the state government accordingly, he said.
Bhadana, while giving his statement on a call attention motion in the Assembly over the facilities, said the detainees (those who were detained under MISA and DIR in the state due to political reasons during the Emergency period from June 1975 to March 1977) are being given a monthly pension of Rs 12,000 and a medial allowance of Rs 1200 respectively.
There is a provision for lifelong monthly pension for such detainees, he said.
The states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh also give pension to such detainees.
