A joint committee of MBSS, Cabinet Minister Arun Chaturvedi and BJP President Ashok Parnamni have decided in principle that centuries-old 13 temples, which were razed by Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) and Municipal Corporation (JMC) under government orders would be rebuild and relocate at their original sites in the walled city here, Badri Narayan Choudhary, MBSS convenor said.
The famous Rojgareshwar Mahadev Mandir is also among the temples to be rebuild and relocated, he said.
In total 87 temples were demolished in the joint exercises of JDA and JMC in last 20 months of the BJP government. 13 of them would be rebuild at their locations, 23 would be rebuild as per the situation, and 35 others at the nearest locations of their past sites, Choudhary, who led the MBSS' charter of demands at the meeting of joint committee yesterday, said.
"We have given a deadline of July 31 next to the state government to come up with a specific plan for construction of temples", he said.
The state government would take up this matter on priority to rebuild, relocate or establish the temple at the same place or at a suitable place after amicable settlement with MBSS, Parnami said.
On July 9, MBSS backed by RSS staged a road blockade to press for restoration of temples razed for construction of Metro here and threatened to launch an agitation if their demands are not met within a week.
