Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh today directed the Vice-Chancellor of Jodhpur's Jai Narain Vyas University to cancel its affiliation to a private college where alleged mass-scale cheating was reported during an exam.
Following complaints regarding "mass-scale" cheating in Mahadev College of Baytoo in Barmer district yesterday, Singh had sought a factual report on the matter from V-C Kailash Sodhani, which was submitted to him today.
After going through the report, the Governor directed Sodhani to cancel the university's affiliation to the college and also asked him to lodge an FIR against its administration and the examination incharge.
Singh also asked the V-C to change the examination centre to a government college and make arrangements to shift the students of this college to some other college, according to an official release issued here tonight.
A flying squad yesterday caught the college students cheating at a mass-level during BA second year examination.
The governor also directed Barmer district collector to make sure that an FIR is registered against the college.
