Raj IAS officer removed from post over NRHM racket

Senior IAS officer Neeraj K Pawan was today removed from his post and put under Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) status after raids were carried out at his office and residence by anti-corruption bureau sleuths in connection with an alleged racket in NRHM.
The Department of Personnel issued the order to remove Pawan from the post of Commissioner, Agriculture department.
The government also removed Additional Director IEC, Anil Kumar Agrawal who is also on the radar of the ACB, and put him under APO status.
Another officer, Deepa Gupta, who is under arrest, was suspended.
The ACB had yesterday conducted raids at the premises of Pawan, Agrawal, chief accounts officer Gupta, storekeeper Joji Varghese and "middleman" Ajeet Soni.
Soni allegedly used to collect bribe amount in form of consultancy fees from various firms for getting tenders issued to them in connivance with officials posted in National Health Mission, where Pawan was the Additional Director, ACB IG V K Singh said.
He would allegedly distribute the bribe amount among the officers.
After the raids and initial investigation, the ACB arrested Soni, Gupta and Varghese late last night.
