Two persons accused of freeing a gangster from police custody were arrested on Saturday.

A police party had caught Vikram Gurjar alias Papla on Thursday night and placed him under detention at Behror Police Station.

Gurjar's accomplices including the arrested duo-- Vinod Swami and Kailash Chandra-- attacked the police station in Alwar and opened fire at the policemen, IG Jaipur S Sengathir said.

DGP Bhupendra Singh reached Behror on Friday and after reviewing the situation, handed over the case to the special operations group which nabbed Chandra and Swami, who is a history-sheeter.

Efforts are on to arrest the others, the DGP said, adding that the Rajasthan Police was working in coordination with the Haryana Police.
