Rajagopal, quoting a release received from Laureus Sports Academy Chairman Edwin Moses, said he would be among panelists elected from across 150 countries to decide who should be the winners of the coveted awards in 2012.
The Laureus Media selection panel decides awards in six categories, including best men and women athletes.
Rajagopal has covered several national and international sporting events, including five Olympics, the first Youth Olympics and four Asian Games.
