Gamini Senarath was remanded till November 15 by the Colombo Fort magistrate's court.
Senarath and two others had surrendered to the court to face accusations of misappropriation of public funds in the contract to build the Hyatt Regency Hotel here.
In September, Rajapaksa's top civil servant Lalith Weeratunga was sentenced to three years in jail for misappropriation of public funds.
Since Rajapaksa's defeat in 2015 elections, members of his family and top aides have faced graft charges. Some of them have been arrested and released on bail pending court proceedings.
