Kummanam Rajasekharan will be sworn in as the new Mizoram governor on Tuesday, an official said today.
Rajasekharan would reach here tomorrow and Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Ajit Singh would administer the oath of office to Rajasekharan tomorrow at the Raj Bhavan here, State Protocol Officer David Liansanglura Pachuau told PTI.
President Ram Nath Kovind had appointed Rajasekharan, the Kerala BJP chief as the governor of Mizoram on Friday as the tenure of the present incumbent Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma (retd) ended today.
Sharma was today given a farewell at the Raj Bhavan as well as at Thuampui helipad by Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla, his cabinet colleagues, speaker Hiphei, deputy speaker R Lalrinawma, legislators and senior officials.
Mizoram has had eight governors since NDA came to power in 2014.
