"Modi is a very focussed person, it seems and has a selfless agenda," Birla said at an interaction organised by the MCCI here.
She said, "Everybody has lots of hope from Modi. I met him three or four times. He is now going in the right direction. In the last ten years, everything got stuck. No decision was taken during this period. Now we should all cooperate with him."
Asked about her views on the performance of the West Bengal government under the leadership of Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, she preferred to give a skip.
"I am not much conversant with what is going on here. But I will ask Agarwal (Sanjay Agarwal, president of MCCI) and another person to give a reply," Birla, who spent her early years in the city and is now heading the CSR arm of the Aditya Birla Group, said.
As no answer was forthcoming from them, she said, "let's pass it.
