Rajasthan ACB slaps another case on jailed IPS officer

The ACB had arrested them last month for taking a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from one Bhawani Singh, a former agent of a multi-level marketing company, in Ajmer district.

Another former agent of the company, Manwar Khan, had also approached the ACB in March this year with a similar complaint, IG (ACB) Umesh Mishra said.

The complainant had accused Ajay Singh of demanding Rs 3 lakh through the assistant sub-inspector, and the FIR in this matter was registered today, Mishra said.

Earlier, four directors of the company were arrested for duping investors of lakhs of rupees. Ajay, who was then posted as Assistant SP in Ajmer, was investigating the case.

Ajay allegedly threatened former agents of the company that he would make them accused in the case if they did not pay money to him.

On complaint of Bhawani, the ACB had trapped and arrested the assistant sub-inspector while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh and later arrested the IPS officer.
