On April 27, Khan had been directed by a local court in Jaipur to appear before it on May 26, after he was seen smoking at the stadium.

Taking cognisance of a complaint filed by a private cricket academy, the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Shilpa Sameer summoned the actor.

In his complaint, Anand Singh, who runs the Jaipur Cricket Academy, had sought action against Khan under section 5/11 of Rajasthan Prohibition of Smoking Act, 2000, which prohibits smoking at a public place.

"Two cops from Rajasthan police department came here today. A policeman from our police station accompanied the Rajasthan cop to the residence (Mannat bungalow) of the actor where the summons were given," an officer at Bandra police station told PTI.

The summons were handed over to his personal assistant as the actor was not at his residence, the officer said.

According to the petitioner, Khan was seen smoking on April 8 during a match between the teams of Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders.
