"This would give a push to various development projects," she said at the first Governing Council meet of the newly constituted NITI Aayog.
Raje also suggested for allowing the states to prepare and implement various development projects as per the needs of the regional conditions and specific requirement, and provide central funds for such schemes.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was attended by Chief Ministers and representatives of 31 states and Union Territories.
Prime Minister has announced setting up of three sub- groups under the NITI Aayog and one of them is for rationalisation of centrally sponsored schemes. Currently there are 66 such programmes.
Arguing in favour of the cooperative federal structure of the Aayog, Raje said development of a structure based on dialogue between the States and the Centre be promoted through this institute, so that all the states could put forward their demands and requirements independently.
