Sports person achieving second and third positions will be rewarded with cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively.
Gehlot announced this package on the foundation stone lying ceremony of a multipurpose Indoor Stadium here at Chainpura, part of his constituency.
The stadium is proposed to come up at a cost of Rs. 6. 71 crore.
Players achieving first place in any national event will be rewarded with cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakh as against Rs 25000.
The second-placed player will get Rs 1 lakh as against the prize of Rs.10000 while third-placed player will be richer by Rs 50,000 as against present Rs 5000.
"Our government has taken multiple steps to create and build a sports promotional atmosphere in the state, specially in the villages," Gehlot said.

Mentioning about government efforts, Gehlot said a synthetic track will be laid at the SMS Stadium at the cost of Rs. 5 crore. He also said state's first Sports University will be set up at Jhunjhunu and a football Academy will come up in Jodhpur.
A Basketball Academy will be opened in Jaisalmer, Kabaddi Academy in Karauli and a Sports Academy in Udaipur will also set up soon.
