Speaking at the inauguration of textile exhibition 'Vastra', Rajasthan Industry MinisterGajendra Singh Khimsar said that during the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit held in November last year, 30 MoUs worth Rs 8,500 crore were signed for the textile sector.
"Of the 30 MoUs, 12 projects have started production while 12 projects are under construction and three projects are under various stages of clearance," Khimsar said.
"The state has significant presence in the entire value addition chain and has emerged as a pre-eminent hub for the sector.
In June this year, the Centre had approved a special package for employment generation and export promotion in the textile sector.

The package included a slew of measures which are labour friendly and would promote employment generation, economies of scale and boost exports, the minister pointed out.
As many as 70 foreign buyers from 22 countries are participating in the event organised by the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation ltd (RIICO) with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
