"The government has taken an initiative to prepare a girl policy, to ensure their security and protection, which will be taken up at a cabinet meeting soon," the chief minister said.
Speaking at a meeting with women social workers, called to discuss the issue of crime against women, Gehlot also said the Rajasthan Women (Prevention of Atrocities) Bill, 2012 will be soon be sent to the President for approval.
Gehlot said that format of the Bill has been approved by the Cabinet and will now be forwarded to President for his accord.
"After the nod, it will immediately be implemented in the state," he said.
In the meeting, women expressed concern over the rising cases of molestation and harassment and demanded concrete steps from the government to curb the trend.
