Under the Centre-sponsored 'Hunar Se Rojgar' scheme, 600 youths have already been trained so far, officials said.
"The scheme has been well received and training to 600 youths have already been given. We are now targeting to train 2,000 youths this year under three courses for food and beverage service, food production and house keeping," Rakesh Srivastava, Commissioner of the state Tourism department, told PTI here.
"Response of the scheme is good as it is helping the candidates in getting placements in different establishments. The training is for enhancing skills and bridging the gap of skilled manpower in the hospitality sector," he said.
"Youths in the age of 15-28 should be at least 8th standard pass to seek admission in 6 and 8 week courses. Stipend is also paid on successful training," he said.
"The scheme launched by the Union Ministry of Tourism is very beneficial for the state of Rajasthan where the tourism is one of the main industries and it would help the industry getting more skilled manpower," he added.
