The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje decided to implement Rajasthan Poisons Possession and Sales Rules with stern action against those salesman who are found flouting norms, Medical, Health and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore told reporters here.
The seller would have to keep a log book of acid and alkaline storage, and would be able to sell them to customers after procuring their identity proof and purpose of use, apprising the minutes of Cabinet which lasted for over two and half hours, Rathore said.
The SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) will be given powers to implement this very Act, and impose a fine of up to Rs 50,000 on those who flout rules, Rathore said.
The Cabinet also decided to pay compensation of Rs 2-3 lakh to acid victims and ensure his/her full medical treatment, he added.
Meanwhile, to woo more private investment in Special Economic Zones (SEZ) set up under the name of "Mahendra World City", the state government would provide 500 acres out of the 1,000 acres for "domestic produce" sector, Rathore said.
