"The mishap took place at around 0119 hours when the high-speed train was passing underneath a foot-over bridge at the Kanwar station of Fatehpur district, where the rail post was erected," said Vijay Kumar, the Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway zone headquartered here.
"The rail post was tilting slightly towards the railway track after the open door of a goods train compartment had smashed against it a few hours earlier.
"At around 0316 hours, the train reached Khaga station, where its engine was replaced as a precautionary measure before it resumed an uninterrupted onward journey at around 0435 hours.
"In the mean time, trains running on the Kanpur-Allahabad route were diverted through the loop line," the CPRO added.
"Nobody was injured in the mishap and the damage caused to the engine as well as the bogeys was not major.
An inquiry committee has been set up with instructions to submit its report to the Divisional Railway Manager, Allahabad Division, NCR, he added.
