Raje directs officials to ensure supply of potable water

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today directed officials to ensure proper supply of potable water during the ongoing summer and asked them to prepare action plan to control water-borne and seasonal diseases.
"Contingency plans for supply of water should be properly implemented and swift action be taken for removing illegal connections on water supply lines," a release quoting her said.
"Adequate funds have been sanctioned for maintenance of water supply lines in all districts," it said.
She told the district collectors to appoint zonal in-charge officers in water-scarce regions for monitoring of water supplies.
Supply of drinking water through tankers should be properly monitored using GPS or other technologies, she said while speaking at the Collector-SP conference here.
She also suggested to set-up district-level control rooms and timely redressal of water-related grievances.

She asked the members of the Council of Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries to regularly gather feedback on this during their monthly meetings and inform the senior officers concerned whenever negligence is found.
The CM asked them to ensure maximum participation of farmers in the proposed Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM-2016), to be held in November this year.
She said that farmers from each village panchayat across the state should be invited for it and arrangements should be made for this at the district and state-level, she added.
Raje asked the collectors to make proper arrangements for the proposed 'Nyan Apke Dwar' campaign as well.
