Attacking the Raje government for announcing schemes for Bharatpur division, Congress today alleged that it is against the tradition of the legislative Assembly to make announcements outside when the House is in session and interim budget is to be presented.
"New BJP government in the state would present its interim budget and seek vote on account in the House tomorrow, but the Chief Minister has made public important announcements after a Cabinet meeting in Bharatpur," Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Rameshwar Dudi told reporters here.
"Most of the budget portion is now known to public...What is the need of interim budget now," said Dudi.
He said the Opposition will raise the issue through a motion in the House when the Chief Minister, who is holding the Finance portfolio, presents the interim budget tomorrow.
"Mukhya mantri ne vidhan sabha ki parampara ka nirvah nahi kiya aur uski maryada ko toda hai (The Chief Minister has not followed the traditions of the Assembly and has broken them)", he said.
The Rajasthan government yesterday announced several schemes and facilities for the Bharatpur division including upgradation of Bharatpur Municipal Council to Municipal Corporation, a new medical college, a new department for cow care, rules against smuggling of cows, development of infrastructure around Kailadevi Temple in Karauli and construction of Madanmohan Temple in Kama, among others.
In another decision, the state Cabinet decided to bring the Class 8-level board exams back into the state-run-schooling system.
The decisions were taken by the state Cabinet which met in Bharatpur after a 11-day tour of the division.
