Congress leaders paid floral tributes to former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in his parliamentary constituency on his 27th death anniversary today.
The leaders garlanded the statue of Rajiv Gandhi at Sagar Tiraha area here.
The former prime minister was an MP from Amethi during 1981 to 1991.
He became the youngest prime minister of India at the age of 40, when he assumed office after the assassination of his mother and former PM Indira Gandhi in 1984.
A recipient of the Bharat Ratna, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in Chennai's Sriperumbudur on May 21, 1991.
