"We hope that with in a week the new government will extradite most wanted Dawood Ibrahim to India, provide round-the-clock electricity and water supply to people, end inflation and check fuel prices," Shukla, who was here to attend a meeting of Kanpur Cricket Association, said.
The Congress leader congratulated Modi on his swearing-in as the Prime Minister of the country.
Shukla, however, criticised BJP's invitation to Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif saying that "the party which had earlier denounced such initiatives undertaken by the Manmohan Singh's government was today rolling red carpet for the Pakistan's prime minister."
He said, "the new government also includes members of Shiv Sena that had dug up the pitch of a cricket ground before a India-Pakistan match."
"We hope that there will be no harm done to anyone if the two neighbouring countries play a cricket match in the future," he added.
