Mehta will not only sing, but also carry out six different activities, including playing musical instruments and listening to songs through a headphone.
Mehta was not blind from birth, but was suffering from a rare condition called `retinal pigmentation' and lost his vision completely at the age of 33.
"I was under tremendous stress when my doctor told me to be prepared for blindness," he said, talking to PTI.
"Though music was my hobby, it became my passion since then (after losing vision)...I spend more than ten hours practising music," said Mehta, a retired bank official.
"I was so depressed when I lost my vision completely, but apart from my family (wife and two children), music helped me to come out through that difficult phase. I decided to do something to inspire the people who are not physically disabled from the birth (but acquired disability later in the life)," Mehta said.
"I sent an e-mail to Limca Book of Records, I have got a positive response."
Mehta will have to submit two unedited DVDs of his performance to establish his record. An ophthalmologist and a gazetted government officer will have to witness the performance. He is allowed to take a break of fifteen minutes after six hours.
