Youngsters should understand India and its significance, and play an important role in making the country a world leader, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said Tuesday.
Singh was addressing the 33rd convocation of Chatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj (CSJM) University here.
"Even though learning is a life-long process, only a teacher can teach us. Teaching means moral values. The students must wish for a wonderful career and package, but this should not be your life's aim," he said.
While citing the example of the pilot flying the plane involved in the World Trade Centre attack, Singh said even though he had education, he took people's lives.
Referring to al-Qaida and an IT firm, he said, "In both the places, educated and dedicated youngsters work, but the difference is of ethical values. Due to lack of ethics, youth associated with al-Qaida have turned destructive."
